Lincoln Woods
The Wave

Skin and rubber both stick to the coarse Lincoln Woods granite so much better in the crisp days of fall and winter.  The Wave's aesthetic combination of positive slopers and overhanging incuts is no exception.  The Wave is located on the right side of the horse trail (above the Slabs and before The Ship's Prow, which is on the opposite side of the trail) that exits the back of picnic area #59. Start with both hands matched on a good shelf at the left side of the boulder.  Traverse right on sloping but positive holds.  A good left foot heel hook can make all the difference when working the slopers just before your right hand slots into the incut arching crack.  A much easier hand traverse (keep your feet off the big ramp) leads to a fun top out and the end of a great problem. As with many 'Woods problems of moderate standard, there are several different variations. Please be patient, the animated beta below may take a while to load.  Happy bouldering!
