Lately at some point in every hunt for boulders I end up speechless and virtually dumbfounded with amazement...today was no exception!
There is a mountain on my drive home that I've been eyeballing for the past two or three years. Near the top it appeared to be almost vertical with a flat area right below...my climbers brain keeps telling me there should be rock there. This spring I hiked around the lower slopes and found 8-10 nice boulders but nothing of destination quality. During the summer Sam and I went there one afternoon and fought off the bugs and put up a few problems:

Today I headed uphill beyond where we had looked to the top of the mountain. My climbers brain was correct...there was rock and it was sweet!

I came upon this nice 14' boulder first and then 50 feet to the right I found this amazing 20 footer with a 10 foot roof:

Then another and another and another...many were overhung with nicely featured stone like these two:

Another 20 ft roof:

Last but by no means least I found a stunning little 35-40' sport crag with the potential for 8-10 really nice climbs on amazing stone overhanging 10-15deg, cracks, roofs, beautiful edges and pockets:
I spent three hours out there today including an hour at the cliff, I found a quicker 10 minute approach from a side road, and I'm super pumped to get working on this area!
Every time I go looking for rock I find it...VT Rocks!
